As-salamu alaykum, peace be upon you wherever you are on this planet. Welcome back to In Peace, where we come together to listen, to reflect, to heal and to grow. And today's episode is all about preparing for a new beginning ahead of us the new year, new opportunity. It's all nice and fresh, and in today's episode, I'll give you a nice and short exercise that you can use to prepare for this new start. Give yourself a nice pace, keep hydrated, prepare your nice and fresh pen and paper to be able to follow through this episode and jot down all the things that you can benefit from if you choose to and if you choose to make change in the new start, the new year. What I really love about this time of year, that it's the collective consciousness. During this time, everybody is fueled with good intentions that they really want to make a change and all these things with the new year resolutions. So I love that. I love how so many people together thinking about that, where most of the time throughout the year, people just live in an autopilot, without reflecting, without really thinking about making a change or taking steps. So the positive thing about this time of the year is like so many people come in, is like so many people come in in this consciousness of change, of wanting to do something, of doing this list of the new year resolution. The thing is, maybe sometimes not everybody really take action after that or beyond that, or just come back to that list, you know, near the end of the next year, and today's exercise is is not about that at all. It's about actually encouraging you to to really take action and to really take the right steps and fuel your heart with a pure intention that you're not just writing these things or you're not just doing this reflection exercise to just to write it. Okay, just shut your jaw, tear, put it under the bed and that's it. No, please, please, make really, really, really pure intention that you are going to make use of this. You are going to make it a helpful thing to make the right change that you might need to do. Take the right steps, the actions, no matter how small they are, to help you build the momentum and really take advantage of this new beginning, new start of a new, fresh year, and make your intentions not all about you. Make it really big intentions. You can make use of that and that's the beauty and power of intention that you can make it really big, um. So make it about you're doing, you're making these changes, you're taking these actions to see a better world, to see ease, to see peace, to see justice in our world.
Speaker 1:So I trust that you all have your pen and paper ready, so let's get into it, because I don't want to take a much of your time. I want you to go and do your reflection. So the first thing after preparing your pen and paper is basically reflect. So this is an exercise to reflect, because we can't really prepare for a new beginning without reviewing and reflecting on what's happened in in the year behind us. What, uh, what things that went right, that, what are the things that we could do better?
Speaker 1:So now, I love always to start with the wins. So write your wins. What are the good things, the wins, the, the things that you did and you felt this is a great achievement and you're proud of so. Acknowledging that starting with that is always a good place to start with and it'll fuel you to to keep reflecting on the other things. So write everything, all achievements, wins, write them all that, them all down and celebrate and be grateful for them. And also write what helped you reach these wins, what kind of actions you took, um, that helped you reach to these achievements you had, to these wins you had, um, and I know some people, sadly, might belittle themselves and say, oh, I didn, I didn't really do anything, I don't have any wins, and all that nonsense. Allow me to say look, whatever you to keep going, keep giving, keeping thinking positive thoughts, detaching yourself from the outsider world to keep your inner peace, to keep your inner peace, all these things are wins. Being yourself, being true to yourself, smiling at people, being kind to your neighbours. You know any quote-unquote you might call small, but it's not really small and doing these things, these are wins. So please allow yourself to celebrate all these, allow yourself to write all these things down, every single thing, every good deed, every action, every even if it's if you wrote a sentence that helped somebody feel better about themselves. All these things, write them down. All these things are achievements and are wins and when you write them down and see them, you'll help yourself to to keep going and doing these things and maybe doing them on a bigger scale. So do not belittle yourself. Do not say, oh, I don't have any achievements, oh, I don't have any wins? No, you do. Each one of you, I believe, has more than one thing, so many things that you can acknowledge, and this time of the year is the time to acknowledge yourself and celebrate these wins. Okay, what helped you reach these wins? I took action, I did this, I sent that email. All these things, write them down.
Speaker 1:The next thing you want to write down is write down about the challenges that you faced during this year, and you can write this bit whatever way you want. It doesn't need to be bullet points. Whatever way you want, it doesn't need to be bullet points, doesn't need to be anything. This could be actually a healing exercise to write as big or as small as you like. Write everything, let everything out about the challenges, the obstacles and what you learned about yourself during these times, how you overcome these challenges, how a how did you react during these challenges? Did you say why me? Or did you say what are the lessons I learned? What is this trying to tell me? Whatever way you reacted, write them down, because that will help you reflect on. Do you really want to keep the reaction of why me during the new year, throughout this coming new beginning, or saying and reflecting oh, I can improve this. Actually, I do want to live in a victim mindset for the rest of my life. So be truthful to yourself. Write the challenges, how you react to challenges to, to see the goodness and the beauty in those challenges.
Speaker 1:The last bit you'd like to reflect on is a. You can draw it like a mind map if you like, or like a table, and divide it into four sections. The first section, a. You can put wellness and health and talk about that, like what kind of things that you did and helped you feel more healthy, improved your well-being. So write all these things down, reflecting on on the past year, and write things that you want to add, habits that you want to add in the new year to improve your health and wellness.
Speaker 1:The next section in your mind map or table is your work. What kind of work did you do? How satisfied you were with your work life? A. Did you have a work-life balance? Were you too attached to your work? A. Were you not happy? Did your heart tell you you need to take a different path, but you ignored it because of fear. So write all these things down, reflect on them and and write in the new year and the upcoming more than 300 days, what kind of change you need to do to improve your work life?
Speaker 1:Then, the third section in your mind map, your table, is relationships. What kind of relationships you built during this time? Friendships, family, whatever kind of relationships? How did that go in the past year? What did you do to flourish these relationships, to improve them, to have balance between giving and receiving? So write all these things down, truthfully, again, without judging yourself, um, just to reflect on these things, reflect how, what you want to see in your relationship, life in the next new beginning, and write all that down. Reflect on it and again, be as truthful, truthful and easy, non-judgmental.
Speaker 1:The last bit in your mind map table is the really important thing and it can really sum up all the rest, but it's just the focus on your own self-growth. What did you do to to grow in life? Did, did you take courses? Did you whatever action you took to improve yourself, to grow for self-development? Again, there's no such thing as small. Write everything down related to your self-growth and write everything down relating how you want to invest in your self-growth and the new beginning, the new year. Write it all down. Write down how satisfied you are with your own self-growth and this in this section you can also reflect on all the others, because your wellness, your relationships, your work they're all related to your own self-growth as well. So write in all things down related like how satisfied you are with yourself, a, what are the challenges you faced, a and your self-growth journey. Reflect in your wellness, your work, work, your relationships. Write down what can improve. How can you improve the steps you can take, no matter how small, big they are. Write them down and again, write the highlights. What were the highlights of your own self-growth journey? What were the wins and what? What took you there that you can keep going and and expanding to keep up with your self-growth, so, self growth. So these are the, the things that I really pray that will help you really have a truthful review of the year, but also will help you prepare for the new beginning of the new year.
Speaker 1:For to have to make the most of your time on this earth, you must to keep being reflective, and you don't need a new year to to keep reflecting. Make it a habit. For example, on the bit of self-growth, you can write down a about your wins and stuff and how you got there. There's always something between wins and reflecting. You always need to be to keep reflecting on on your life, to actually reach achievements and and wins in life, so you can write down like you want to make reflecting reflection. It could be a daily practice. That's great and it should be. At the end of each day you can write down what things went really well, other things didn't go as great. So make it a daily practice to reflect and that is a great win and a great habit to carry with you in the new year.
Speaker 1:And throughout, throughout all these writing, remember to tune into your heart, because your heart will tell you the truth and will encourage you to take the right steps ahead and make the most of your time on this earth. Make the most of the new beginning, of the new year. At the end, I really pray for a blissful, a peaceful, an abundant year ahead for each and every one of you, and I'm so grateful to have you in this journey reflecting on the year myself. One of my wins is establishing this podcast, which I'm real grateful for. So, yeah, I'm grateful for each one of you and praying for a peaceful, blissful, abundant year ahead, and until I connect with you again, salamat.
