Speaker 1:

Hello, peace be upon you wherever you are on this planet. Welcome, welcome to, in Peace with me, delene Abu-Shaban, where we come every week to listen, reflect, heal and to grow. Today's episode is going to be really nice and short. I wanted to share some reflection during a time that is considered to be a special time, a special memory, a for many, and and this, this, this was my, which wasn't long ago, but it was a time, of course, not a time that I used to celebrate or anything, let alone this year, with everything going on. Such memory and the memory when you were born, when you came to this earth, is a very special memory because it reminds you of asking yourself why are you here? Where are you from what you were made for, where are you from the mission you were made for? It's a really good time to reflect deeply on your life, on the value of your life, on how you are with yourself, how you are with others, how you are with the whole world, and it's a great time to improve and see what were the good things that went really well in the past year and the other things that weren't as planned or as good as you you thought you really wanted them to be. Um, yeah, so for me, I believe birthdays should be all about that, all about deeper reflections and writing down the things that you can do to improve and grow. A really deep reflection was is the value of time on this earth. Yes, maybe I was blessed enough to to complete another year of my life when so many in Gaza did not have that. So, reflecting deeply on that, and what does it mean for me, what does it mean for any of you who still are blessed enough to be on this earth? It's a blessing, really it's. We are given more opportunities to do more on this earth, but sometimes we forget the value of our time and we just let it pass without using it, without a using it and contribute, contributing more, using it wisely, or even just giving gratitude, sincere gratitude, to the blessing of time on this earth. And they love?

Speaker 1:

I love a saying, actually a couple of sayings. One was by Prophet Muhammad, a piece upon him, and another by a scholar called HassanHasan al-Basri. Yes, maybe they are influenced by my Muslim background, but I believe, really, they speak to every human being and everyone can benefit from them in order to reflect especially on the value of time, and they really helped me in the journey of becoming more mindful of my own time and how I spend my own time. When I learned them and always put them close by to my mind, and the first one was by Prophet Muhammad was that how most, the majority of human beings take two vast blessings, gifts, for granted, and these two blessings are health and free time, and I believe this is so, so true. Most of the time. Most human beings take their health for granted, take their free time for granted, and I can't stand a saying how some people say, okay, let's kill some time, and I'm like, oh my god, they.

Speaker 1:

The lack of awareness of the value of time, sadly, is really yeah, it's, it's just a sickness I feel in today's society, and the amount of distractions that human beings have in order to become less aware, less mindful of their time is really really countless of distractions really, and I always reflect on this a co and and also reflect on how it's a very, very sad state of most human beings that sometimes, again, loss going back to the topic of loss comes as an awakening for the human being who's in a state of distraction and lack of gratitude to the gifts of health and time of health and time. So sickness comes, which is a loss of health, to awaken the value of health. So when someone loses part of their health or falls into sickness, this is when they wake up and start to pay gratitude and know and acknowledge the value of health. So that's how loss can be a blessing, because it awakens this gratitude within human beings for the value of, of their health. And again, sometimes, when we see some people's time on this earth ended, it's like for us to reflect on the value of time and on the value, how we can put value into our time that is still left on this earth. So, yeah, really really good lessons to learn that we should never take for granted the gifts that we are given, whether it's our health, our time, and make the most of it.

Speaker 1:

Ask ourselves the right questions, how we can do more, how we can use our time. Ask ourselves that the other saying by Al-Hassan al-Basri he was talking to human beings and he was saying you are nothing but a number of days. Whenever each day passes, then part of you has gone, and this really, really digs deep. How true it is. We are, really, we are days, and when a day is gone, and I reflect always on that, especially when I witness a sunset, and how the big meaning of the sunset it's like the end of the day, so it's part of me has gone and, like when birthdays come, it means 365 days has gone, which means a huge part of us, of ourselves, has gone.

Speaker 1:

So reflect on how we used all these 365 days and how to become more mindful of using each and every day in a more mindful way, a more constructive way and productive. And when I say productive it doesn't mean to be doing, doing, doing doing all the time. No, sometimes, when we give ourselves time for being, that can be the most productive thing, because when we be, it means we reflect, we connect with our souls, with our hearts, and it helps us to become even extra mindful of the value of life, of the value of our days, of the value of our time, our health and all the other immense blessings that we are surrounded with that, when we overdo, sometimes become extra distracted from paying gratitude to these blessings. So really important reflection I wanted to share, and so it is worth sharing, to remind myself, to remind you, beautiful humans, and always remember to ask yourself are you going to to use and spend your precious, precious time on distractions, on social media, all the time on your phone, on whatever meaningless things, or are you going to spend your precious time with meaningful things, with meaningful friendships, connections and actions? The choice at the end is yours and it's ours.

Speaker 1:

All of us and I really, really pray deeply that we make the right choices and really use our times doing meaningful actions, spending it mindfully to become better every single day, to help people around us to become better every day by being a good example and by being intentional and conscious in every moment that it is a gift.

Speaker 1:

It is not just here in vain. Not every minute of your life. Choose to spend it wisely. Don't waste it regretting your past because it's gone or worrying about the future because it is not in your hands. But you can know for sure it will be a bright future if you use your present moment mindfully, doing meaningful things, being in a meaningful state. I will end this here and leave you to reflect on how you use your time, how you can use it more effectively, and pay gratitude, sincere gratitude, for the value of your time on this earth, and remember all those who their time ended and and try to to make the most of your time a to to pay them justice, but also pay yourself justice in making the most of this gift of time of life. Peace be with you all and looking forward to connecting again soon, inshallah, salamat.
